Fairfield Bay Endless Summer Bash!
Saturday, September 1st Noon to 9 pm at the Cool Pool Café
Featuring country music sensation, Heath Sanders!
“The Cool Pool – Where Sunglasses are optional, but smiles are unavoidable!”
Fairfield Bay is where the fun of summer never ends. And to prove it, we’re hosting the first Endless Summer Bash. Plenty of ‘fun’ left in the sun! Join us Saturday, September 1st starting at 12:00 PM for games, food, pickleball, and an evening concert by country singing sensation, Heath Sanders!
“The summer fun never ends at Fairfield Bay,” exclaims Cassie Lopez, Recreation Manager. “We’ve been fortunate with beautiful weather all season, so we decided to soak up more sun with another all-day family picnic party. Lots of olde-fashion pool and lawn games. We’re SUPER excited about having Heath Sanders perform for us as well. What a talent!”
Anyone up for a little friendly game of… EVERYTHING! There will be fun and games for everyone! Lawn games start at 1:00PM, and will include lawn pong, cornhole, horseshoes, volleyball, and shuffleboard. Grab some friends and see who can earn epic bragging rights. Water games will start at 3:00PM, with a water balloon toss for the kids.
Pickleball? Yes, please! David Redding will be directing our pickleball tournament. Games start at 9 AM with lunch included. Think you can win a trophy? Come show us your skills! Registration forms are available at the Fairfield Bay Recreation office. Entree fee is $20
What’s a party without food? We’ll be grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs – what else would you imagine at a pool party? Come grab a burger or dog, chips and drink for only $5.
Enjoy the music of Arkansas’ newest singing sensation Heath Sanders! Heath is a former Oil Field worker from Arkansas turned full time musician. His cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Either Way” went viral and caught the attention of Bobby Bones in February. He’s been selling out shows since then and has been in the studio recording his first song “Bloodline” that will be released in the next few weeks. We’re super excited that he’s chosen to perform for our party! Don’t miss out – this rising star is definitely one to see! Tickets are ONLY $10!
So, summer’s almost over, and yes, school will be starting soon, but we’re going to hang on to summer for just a little bit longer! We look forward to seeing you at the biggest pool party of the season!

Care Caps meets the 2nd Monday of the month….we do NOT meet in April and October!
ANYONE CAN HELP…..BRING NOTHING….FFBAY VISITORS AND RESIDENTS WELCOME!!!!!
From one person to hundreds… From one Care Cap™ to thousands…
The story of Care Cap Connections™ is the story of Mary Philips’ desire to help her sister, diagnosed with terminal cancer, bald from harsh but life-extending chemotherapy.
Mary could sew expertly; Linda could not. Frustrated by scratchy wigs, unattractive turbans plus the scarcity and expense of nice kerchiefs, Linda was further depressed. Baldness left her feeling “…less than a woman”; her search for comfortable and pretty head coverings drew blanks.
Mary sewed samples. Linda liked and appreciated the garments—so much that she began to give them away to others in chemo. The need began to snowball. Demand far outstripped supply.
Friends volunteered to help Mary with the project. Others heard and joined the experience.
Today, more than 1,500 women, men and young people come together under Mary’s leadership to fabricate and deliver free of charge, “Care Caps™”, a health and human services support project that reaches thousands undergoing treatments in major cancer centers.
Her vision and leadership has developed “The Care Cap Way” of cutting, pinning, sewing and packaging comfortable kerchiefs. In five years, over 34,000 caps have been made for chemotherapy patients and shipped to the American Cancer Society and cancer clinics nationwide.
To Mary and her helpers, a cap is a person; many, many people now receive their encouragement and love – people not even known by the workers.
In mid-2007 and 2011, Mary accepted three awards on behalf of her volunteers: the noted Arkansas Community Service trophy and citations from the Arkansas State Senate and House of Representatives. Following the 2007 presentation, in an off-the-cuff comment, the NBC television program moderator could be seen and heard on camera – his grin was infectious as he exclaimed, “That’s good stuff!”
And so it is – “good stuff” – and Mary believes it must continue.
Care Cap Connections™ is a division of Volunteer America – 1776, designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity. All gifts are tax deductible. No officer, Board member or project partner is paid and no goods are sold.
In 2007, Mary’s sister, Linda, died. Mary’s dream and vision have not. Individuals, corporations and foundations are urged to keep this unique project alive.
