Bingo Returns To The Den

April 1, 2014 By Dan Feuer

bingoddThe Fairfield Bay Lions use two on-going fund raisers to support our eyesight programs; Pancake Breakfasts and BINGO, which will return better than ever on Saturday, April 12. Each local Lions Club around the world is responsible for raising funds to support their own local activities as well as paying annual dues which support State, National and International Lions charities. In addition to our other fund raisers, BINGO is one of our main sources of income to support eye exams and eyeglasses for those in need. Last year the Fairfield Bay Lions provided nearly $4,000 in assistance to local residents, which without the proceeds from these activities, would go unfunded. BINGO will be held on Saturday evenings with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the first game called at 6 p.m. Each BINGO session will feature one jackpot worth $1,000. Snacks and beverages are available during BINGO. Our Tuesday and Saturday Pancake and Biscuit and Gravy Breakfasts will return Memorial Day weekend.
The Fairfield Bay Lions meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month with dinner being served at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting and guest speaker at 6 p.m. Dinner reservations @ $7.50 per person should be made by the Sunday prior to the meeting by contacting Lion Mary Meadows @ 884-6388. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 10 and our guest speaker will be Regina Chaney speaking on the Community Wellness Shirley Senior Citizen Van Buren County extension program. The Fairfield Bay Lions Club is the charter organization for the Boy Scout troop and at our meeting on Thursda,y April 24 we will be privileged to host an Eagle Scout induction program. Please come and join us at a meeting as the public is always welcomed and encouraged to attend.
