Air Evac Gives Presentation at Rotary

September 20, 2017 By Dan Feuer

By: Jeannie Winston

The Fairfield Bay Rotary Club recently welcomed Nikki Murdock, Membership Sales Manager for Air Evac Lifeteam 30. Air Evac was established in 1985 to provide air medical transportation and ensure access to emergency health care for the citizens of rural communities. It is the largest independently owned and operated membership-supported air ambulance service in the United States. Air Evac has 320 bases in 39 states and nine (9) bases in the state of Arkansas.
Ms. Murdock has been with Air Evac Lifeteam 30 for eight years and is based in Vilonia. Ms. Murdock, who lives in Quitman, shared the benefits of being a member of Air Med Care. Ms. Murdock stressed that once a household becomes a member, any member of that household can be transported via helicopter without any out of pocket expenses. An annual membership of $65 per year covers everyone in a household, including undergraduate college students. There is no limit to the number of transports during the year.
Ms. Murdock shared her experience of needing an emergency medical flight for her husband when he was injured. Her experience as a customer of the services she supports provided her with valuable knowledge of how important timely access to medical care is for both the patient and family.
Being a member of Air Evac supports the health care needs of our local community by providing a quick response time that can save lives in critical medical situations. Each emergency transport is handled professionally by the Air Evac team which consists of a pilot, a paramedic, and an RN.
For more information on becoming a member, please call Nikki at (501) 428-6861.
