FFB Fire Department, Ladies Auxilary
The FFB Fire Dept. Auxiliary was established to aid and benefit the firefighters and to foster a positive spirit about the organization as well as provide support and education to the members of our community. A reorganization of the auxiliary occurred in 2002. Through the past 10 years, 10-12 members have organized various fund raising projects to assist our Volunteer Fire Department with vital and necessary equipment and support. These fund raisers included: Golf tournaments, chili cook-offs, selling of cook books, Lunch Wagons at the July 4th parade and at the marina; we have worked with FFB Community Club Recreation Dept. at numerous functions also, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Eagle Watching, Pet Parade, and Octoberfest. Our last effort was assisting the staff at Indian Hill CC for the Ozark Hospital Gala.
The donations raised at these fundraisers have helped to purchase a marine radio, radios, stabilization supports, and research funding for ISO consulting agency, (to help lower homeowners insurance). Tee shirts and Shelter Tents were also purchased for any extended incidents both for shade and shelter from inclement weather.
Our Auxiliary is open to any members of our community who would like to join. There are no dues, it’s not too time consuming, and a very worthy association. If you think you might be interested in joining us contact Chris Lang, 884-6182 or Karen Evans, 884-3010.
