By nature, caregivers are nurturing people who put other’s needs before their own. It is not easy and can be not only physically but emotionally draining. If you are a caregiver there are things to alleviate some of the stress. One of them is to meet with and share information with others who are also sharing a similar burden. It helps to realize that others have the same problems and it helps to share what has helped them in similar circumstances. If you are a caregiver for someone with Alzheimers Disease or a related dementia one of the helps available to you is the Caregivers of Alzheimers Support Group which meets monthly on the third Wednesday of every month at Indian Rock Village. The next meeting will be July 17 at 2:00 p.m. Call Nancy Johnson at 884-6728 for information.
