WRAAA (White River Area Agency on Aging) is proud to announce that it has received a $10,000.00 Respite Care grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. The Respite Care Grant Program recognizes family caregivers and the vital role they play by supporting nonprofits that address the episodic respite care needed to prevent caregiver ‘burn out’. WRAAA will use the grant to provide 4-6, 8 hour episodes of respite to a caregiver who is providing care to someone who has a paralysis diagnosis. The care will be available over WRAAA’s coverage area: Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, and Woodruff Counties. WRAAA is honored to have been chosen by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation to provide Respite Care to eligible individuals. The support from the Reeve Foundation will allow WRAAA to provide respite from a trained home care assistant to a caregiver of a person suffering paralysis. A heart-felt THANK YOU to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation from White River Area Agency on Aging and the people we serve!
