This is a personal story from our 10 yr TOPS. lady, Pam Hickman. KOPS means Keeping OFF Pounds Sensibly. She has reached her goal and kept it off for 10 yrs now.
“Before moving to Clinton in Jan, 2003, I’d been a member of TOPS 0451 Marshall for 10 yrs, but lost very little weight. Realizing I couldn’t drive 64 miles each week to the meeting just to visit, I knew I’d have to get serious…I started practicing what I had learned from our TOPS-(Taking OFf Pounds Sensibly) programs. I started walking five days a week and cut back on calories. With TOPS pals and my husband’s encouragement I reached my goal in Sept 2003, losing 39.5 lbs
“I have now been a KOPS for ten yrs, but not without a struggle. I have to pay close attention to the amount of calories I eat and exercise several times each week.
I moved to Fairfield Bay in May, 2012, transferred membership and what a wonderful place to exercise.
I try hard not to miss meetings, it keeps me focused.”
