Same Mission Different Bike

June 25, 2013 By Dan Feuer

Same MissionLast summer, Lion Mark Mansell rode his bicycle from Portland, Oregon to Portland Maine for Leader Dogs. With tremendous support from across the country he raised over $100,000.” (leaderdog.org). So for an encore this year he’s changing from bicycle to motorcycle and bringing along his wife on a 23 day 48 state tour to again raise funds for the Leader Dog program. Lion Mark and his wife Debbie (pictured above) departed on June 15 on their journey to touch all 48 continental states before returning home on July 8.

For more information or to donate go to www.leaderdog.org or visit Lion Mark and Debbie on www.facebook.com/CyclingForLeaderDogs. The pair should cross Texarkana, AR sometime on July 5 on their leg from Alexandria, LA thru Arkansas part of Texas to their destination for the day of Oklahoma City, OK.

Please remember that at our meeting on Thursday June 27 we will have installation of officers for the coming year, let us all make a special effort to be present and show our support for their service. The meeting will begin with dinner at 5:30 pm followed by the installation of officers and our guest speaker the Director of the Fairifield Bay Library Alice Chambers in conjunction with Lions International Literacy month in June. Guests and visiting Lions are always welcome at our bi-monthly meetings the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
