When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We Serve. In over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior citizens centers, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centers, Lions are doing community volunteer work. We want everyone to see a better tomorrow. That’s why we support sight programs and services, including vision screenings, eye banks and eyeglass recycling. We believe everyone deserves a healthy life. From providing health programs that focus on hearing loss to supporting efforts to control and prevent diabetes, Lions are volunteers working to improve the health of children and adults around the world. We empower the next generation through youth programs, which reach out and invest in the future of young people. We also serve our local communities through projects, which improve our community and protect the environment. The next time you visit Woodland Meade park here in the Bay check out the Lions amphitheater or look for the Lion’s bench in the garden, across from the Senior Citizen’s Center, or the many aluminum can recycle containers located around Fairfield Bay. Being a Lion is very rewarding, whether it is being involved in local projects at home, or as part of Lions International assisting with disaster relief, or life saving, health programs in the US or around the world.
