Obituary: Erma La Verin (Wilch) Bowhay-Zimmerman

ERMA LA VERIN (WILCH) BOWHAY – ZIMMERMANN 94, beloved mom, grandma, aunt and friend, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She was born in Richland, Shawnee County, Kansas to Henry Dewy Wilch and Edna Marie (Hupp) Wilch. After graduation she attended college, then began working as a telephone operator. She then went to work as a U.S. Postal Worker where she went on to retire. She loved working at the Ozark Health Hospital Auxiliary in Clinton, Arkansas, quilting and listening to the music of Daniel O’Donnell. She was a former 37 year resident of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. LaVerin is survived by her children Harold (Betty) Bowhay of Andale, TaMyra (Jim Hamilton) Kern of Park City, Sue Kern of Park City, Jerry (Cheryl) Bowhay of Park City, Terry Bradley of Fairfield Bay, AR; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husbands LaZerne Bowhay and Howard Zimmermann, parents Henry and Marie Edna Wilch, brother Herb Wilch, sister Lucille Heise and grandson Jonathan Bradley.
Services were held on Tuesday, October 9, in Wichita, Kansas. Burial was at the Kechi Township Cemetery Columbarium, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
