Jim Tindale has a passion for painting and a love for the Arkansas landscape. He is comfortable painting in most any media and in a wide range of subject matters. Living by his faith in Jesus Christ, Jim finds peace and joy in the living of this life. He credits his Creator with all that is wonderful and beautiful in the universe and gives Him the glory in all things. Beauty is truly subjective to each person, and Jim is struck by the abundance of natural beauty people can find once they are willing to open their minds’ eyes and look. He feels there is no greater part of the world to find beauty than right here in the natural state. Jim says he “loves this state, its people and its wealth of visual pleasures.” Jim studied art in high school and has also studied art at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and the University of Central Arkansas, along with engaging in many studies with other artists. He has numerous art awards and honors, and his art hangs in public and private collections around the world. He began his arts career with the City of North Little Rock and spent ten years developing the arts through the Parks and Recreation Department as art director. During the early years, Jim co-founded the Arkansas League of Arkansas and served as its first president.
Jim is available to do commissions and enjoys sketching caricatures on location at private parties, corporate picnics, and festivals. His drawings are created using limited broad point permanent ink lines, capturing a positive profile likeness of attendees in as little as one to two minutes. Once per week he has classes at the FFB Community Education Bldg. on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. -12 p.m., along with painting classes in Mountain View and Mountain Home. He is also available for workshops. To Learn more, visit his website at jimtindall.com.
