March 19, 2013 By Dan Feuer

Dorothy Hendrickson and Van Swink, two North Central Arkansas Artist League (NCAAL) members will be honored with a reception at Indian Rock Village (IRV), 265 Dave Creek Pkwy, Fairfield Bay, Thursday, March 28 from 2:00 to 4 p.m. These two talented artists’ works are on display in the IRV downstairs gallery and upstairs dining room through May 15.

Dorothy Hendrickson is well known for her award winning miniatures and vibrant oils of Florida, where she lived before moving to Fairfield Bay. Her travel memories from around the world are captured in watercolor, acrylic and oils. She gives lessons in her home studio and mentors her fellow NCAAL members in all aspects of visual arts.

Van Swink is a self taught artist. His work has won many prestigious awards in juried art shows in Arkansas and Missouri, his former home. He works in pastels, acrylic, colored pencils, and pen and ink. He is a member of the Art Gallery and Studio of Fairfield Bay and his work can be seen in the NCAAL venues in Fairfield Bay, Clinton, and Greers Ferry.

The public is cordially invited to attend the reception and meet the artists. For further information contact NCAAL IRV gallery coordinator Connie Hood at (501)884-3283.
