The Fairfield Bay Lions Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our veterans here in Fairfield Bay and the surrounding area. Whether you were in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the 1st Gulf War or our most recent conflict, we are proud of and grateful for your service. Many others also served when they were called to places like Panama, Granada, Somali or some other remote location to fight, or served our country in the US or Europe during the Cold war. We owe the very beginning of our nation to the men and women of our armed forces and our continued freedom today to those who gave there very lives to protect and defend our country. So on Monday, November 11, celebrate Veterans Day at a local observance or by simply saying “thanks” to a veteran in your family or neighborhood. From the Fairfield Bay Lions we offer our heartfelt thanks to our living veterans and honor those who have gone before us.
Fairfield Bay Lions remember our Thanksgiving/Christmas party at the Lions Den on Thursday, November 14 with doors opening at 5 p.m. and a delicious buffet dinner served at 5:30 p.m. Entertainment will follow. If you have any questions regarding the dinner please contact Lion Mary Meadows @ 884-6388. Our next regular Lions Club meeting will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 after the holiday season.
