HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE, SEPTEMBER 15TH AT THE JAMES A. GASTON VISITOR CENTER AT BULL SHOALS-WHITE RIVER STATE PARK FROM 8AM-6PM

August 28, 2018 By Dan Feuer

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s “Mandatory Hunter Education” regulation went into effect July 1 1985. The regulation makes it unlawful for any person born after December 31, 1968, to take or attempt to take wildlife with firearms, crossbow, or conventional bow, without first having on their person proof that he or she has satisfactorily completed an approved Hunter Education Course.

The exceptions to this regulation are those hunters whose birth dates are prior to 1969, and hunters less than 16 years of age when under the direct supervision of a licensed adult at least 21 years of age.

If you were born after December 31, 1968, or if you are just a concerned sportsman or wildlife enthusiast, plan to attend this Hunter Education Course.

The course includes topics such as firearms safety, conservation, wildlife management, sportsmanship, archery, muzzleloading, first aid, wilderness survival and other hunting information. The purpose of the regulation and the course is to inform and educate those enjoying the great outdoors which will lead to safer and more responsible behavior by all outdoorsmen throughout the state.

YOU MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE 10 HOUR COURSE AND COMPLETE A WRITTEN EXAMANATION.

The course is FREE and is open to the first 50 persons to register.
