Dr. Dwight E. Guinn and Solomie Guinn are building a compound with a self sustainable orphanage which will start with 12 girls and 12 boys. There will be a common area in the center separating the dormitories. This area will be used for office purposes, fellowship area, dining and a kitchen off the back.
The compound is 24 miles from the city, this is close to hospitals and schools. The compound will be a one stop service for the orphans and the local village people. Medical doctors have committed to come once a month or more if necessary. Dr. Guinn and Solomie Guinn are certified to work with the children for mental health needs. The compound will take young people off the streets and teach them to make bricks from the clay on the land which gives them a trade. The workers will be fed and paid for their work. Professional engineers have committed their time to oversee the brick making and building. The compound will grow the crops they need for food while also teaching young people about agriculture. The furniture will be made from trees located on the six acres. The young people will learn to make furniture.
OUR IDENTITY: Hope for the future East Africa is an umbrella organization that provides services for destitute and abused children, youth empowerment life skills, and affordable leadership training programs for pastors and church leaders in Uganda and East Africa in general.
OUR PURPOSE: Uganda has the youngest population of any nation on the planet. Out of a population of 34 million people, around 67% are under the age of 18, and 87% are under 30 years of age. Half of the population between 18-30 are unemployed. Our purpose is to address the need for education, children’s welfare and violation of human rights, youth technical and life skills training and Biblical ministry training for pastors and church leaders.
OUR VISION: Our three-fold vision is to rescue vulnerable children from abusive conditions, empower the youth through life skills training and continue to provide affordable leadership training to pastors and church leaders.
OUR SERVICES: To provide a place where street orphaned and runaway children can take refuge. In addition to holistic care, they will be introduced to Jesus Christ. Youth Empowerment will address the humongous need for young people to find employment through learning skills such as carpentry and woodworking in addition to providing financial assistance to obtain academic skills such as agriculture, animal husbandry, poultry and piggery through technical institutions. Pastoral training will address ministry skills, outreach skills, Bible and Theology and Leadership in a sixteen-week course of study.
OUR GOAL: To provide a holistic Christian safe loving environment for the orphaned, street and destitute children, youth empowerment by addressing their economic, emotional, psychological, physical and social challenges that affect their daily life, and provide affordable Biblical leadership training to pastors and church leaders through Ministry skills, Outreach skills, Bible and Theology and Leadership Skills.
OUR NEED: Financial Assistance is imperative. Donations are tax-deductible. We are requesting 50 donors to give $25 a week or $100 a month, or $300 a quarter or $1,200 a year.
