Fairfield Bay Rotary News

July 23, 2013 By Dan Feuer

PICT0001Today we got info that comes in handy from Jackie Sikes. Jackie was born and raised in Denver, Colorado but has lived in Arkansas for the last 23 years, with the last 10 as a resident of Dennard. Jackie is married, has 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Jackie has a background in Early Childhood Education and Administration and is currently a small business owner. She is employed at the Best Western Hillside Inn, writes articles for the Van Buren County Democrat and is the Market Manager at The Dirty Farmers Community Market.

That market opened the first week in May, 2013 and is a non-profit organization whose focus is on serving our community by providing an outlet for local farmers and arts and craft vendors in promoting local agriculture and provide consumers with an alternate buying arrangement, where high quality fresh products, certain value-added specialty consumables and hand-made arts and crafts are available in an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of information and ideas between the farmers, vendors and the consumers. They are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. My wife, Eleanor, said she heard all about it in very praising form and we shall visit and shop at Jackie’s market. We always need and enjoy a market with fresh produce and as we heard, good prices.

The market is located at 794 Hwy 65B in Clinton, phone number 501-253-4716, email [email protected]
