Fairfield Bay Receives $43,100 Sidewalk Grant

November 8, 2017 By Dan Feuer

The Arkansas Department of Transportation has announced that Fairfield Bay is an award recipient for its Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP).
The Transportation Alternatives Program provides funding for programs and projects defined as “transportation alternatives” for non-motorized forms of transportation.
The Fairfield Bay project will add 1,050 feet of 5 foot wide sidewalk along Dave Creek Parkway. Total project cost is estimated at $53,875 with the grant award for 80% of that, or $43,100. The project consists of two sections. 450 feet will be from the Indian Rock Village main entrance to the pedestrian bridge and 600 feet will connect the end of the Chelsea condo parking lot on Dave Creek Parkway to Chelsea Drive. When completed, this walk/run loop will be the popular 5K circuit many look for.
