ONE DAY Jewelry Making
Wednesday, November 11 ~ 10 a.m.- noon
Learn the basics of jewelry making, select your beads from our stock, design your earrings, necklace or bracelet and then leave with your project. Our local artisan, Bettye Ann Cooper, will have all the tools and supplies you will need to use. This class is suitable for ages 12 and up, any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing your own unique jewelry is $30.
STERLING SCHOLARS Veterans Day presentation
Wednesday, November 11 ~ 1-2 p.m. Naval historian and author, John Lambert, returns to Fairfield Bay to present his documentation on the U.S.S. Independence aircraft carrier. Built expressively for battle in the pacific theater of World War II, the ship and her air squadrons saw action against the Japanese, was used as a target in the nuclear bomb testing in the Bikini Atoll after the war, and then was sunk in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Francisco in 1951. Rediscovered in the spring of 2015, the author was a participant in the search and location of this historic ship of war. $10 – FREE FOR VETERANS
ONE DAY Fused Glass
Wednesday, November 11 ~ 2-4 p.m.
Learn the art of fused glass. Local artisan, Barbara Cornett, will help you with your custom creations. All supplies and materials are furnished. This class is suitable for ages 12 and up. Any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing your fused glass piece is $35.
ONE DAY Jeweled Spider Art
Thursday, November 12 ~ 9:45-11:45 a.m.
Did you know that legend has it that spiders are considered lucky? Instructor Fran Schroeder can teach you to create your one of a kind jeweled spider. All supplies and beads are provided. Any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing two spider creations is $20 with a discount for families with children.
Do It yourself – Dollhouse Workshop
Thursday, November 12 ~ 1 a.m.-3 p.m.
Building a dollhouse, display box or vignette? Bring your own supplies and spend a few fun hours each Thursday afternoon assembling your dream house. Don’t have a project? Come and learn from the other crafters. Our goal is to create a miniature Christmas village for the Fairfield Bay Holiday Open House on November 30. Free with annual registration.
One Day Basic Photography
Saturday, November 14 ~ 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Instructor Lee Phillips leads this introductory class on basic photography. No prior experience is necessary. $20
