The year is rapidly drawing to a close. Of course, hitting the 50,000 mark was terrific. Add to that: increasing production of all groups, high attendance by sewing team volunteers, good financial position after very slow spring receipts, favorable comments from medical center contacts and individuals receiving the caps.
Mary has renewed our previous requests to Janome America to donate replacement machines. Pray, this time, our need will be heard and acted on favorably. It is amazing the faithful 18 continue to function quite well.
On a special note, most know we stopped going to Louisiana. It was a tough trip each month so after seven years, mutual understanding was reached for Mary to close out her participation. The project continues, however. We now send fabric enough to make caps for the two cancer facilities always supplied. The team coordinators follow-up by delivering finished garments to the American Cancer Society and LSU’s Willis-Knighton Medical Center.
