The Education Center is once again proud to host the BLUE RIBBON BEAUTIES exhibit showcasing the talent of some of our students and instructors who earned Blue Ribbon and/or Best of Show recognition at the Van Buren County Fair, the North Central Arkansas District Fair, and/or the State Fair of Arkansas. This display of artistic talent will be featured at the Education Center until November 19.
This year our artists included:
Painters – Joyce Hartmann, Lori Kane and Makala Strang
Poets – Jim Beach and Lee Phillips
Photographers – Elizabeth Beach, Jim Beach, Robert Gaut, Lydia Kuipers, Jennifer Kuipers, Lee Phillips, Makala Strang and Brandi Vandygriff
I would also like to say a special thank you to Corine Weatherly, Fair Manager, Phyllis Young, Creative Arts Facilitator, Alice Chambers, Youth Talent Coordinator from the Van Buren County Fair, and The Fairfield Bay News for helping to promote the arts in our county.
Again, the art exhibit will be on display during operating hours, Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until November 19. Keep in mind that most of the artwork is for sale and that a portion of all proceeds go to support the Fairfield Bay Community Education Center and the North Central Arkansas Foundation for Arts & Education. These beautiful works of art will make wonderful Christmas gifts. We hope you enjoy the exhibit and please tell your friends to visit as well.
The following instructors also participated in this event and I invite the Fairfield Bay community to sign up for upcoming classes at the Education Center: Doris Sexson – Painting, Lee Phillips – Digital Photography, Susan Calaway – Piano, Dan Eidson – Guitar, Jim Beach – Dulcimer. For a complete listing of course offerings see the Fairfield Bay News or like us on facebook at FFB Community Education Center.
Thank you for your support,
Dr. Catherine Swift
