No funds have been provided by the insurance company as of this writing. Site investigation by the various required agencies continue and the site remains closed until our insurance carrier releases for cleanup.
Cleanup will begin immediately after the site is released. In addition to the policy on the building itself, our coverage provides for up to $25,000 in funds for site debris removal and up to $2,500 for removal of damaged trees. These funds will be provided based on documented costs submitted to the insurance company.
There is also a provision for reimbursement for fire response up to $5,000 that will be filed based on documentation provided by the FFB fire department and EMS squads who battled the blaze. Those funds will be directed to these agencies to reimburse costs they incurred.
We have been advised by the insurance provider that the basis of our coverage does not require we spend the entire $786,000 coverage replacing the lost building. We are able to utilize the funds to rebuild as deemed appropriate on that site and apply remaining monies to other capital projects in the Bay.
The Board continues to review options to provide food and beverage service capability at that location along with other considerations to enhance the Bayview pool experience for owners and guests. No other projects will be considered until the 2015 budget has been developed.
We will continue to update you via this forum and invite you to join the Board at their monthly open meetings each 4th Tuesday of the month @ 9:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Top of the Rock.
