September 20 was an active day for two professionals who happen to produce a very popular web blog for outdoor enthusiasts in Arkansas. Joe Jacobs and Lisa Mullis spent the day exploring the trails of the Bay. They were joined by Debbi Brawley, a local enthusiast who has worked tirelessly to assist in the development of our Bay trails, early that morning for their first hike on the Mountain Ranch trail. They followed that with exploring the Indian Rock Cave trail before grabbing a couple of kayaks to paddle out to Sugarloaf Mountain trail. They noted that the Sugarloaf experience had long been on their “must do” list and the experience was wonderful and not to be missed. Then they had to kayak back to the marina. I’m exhausted just describing the amount of activity they packed into the day! Joe and Lisa, joined again by Debbi Brawley, met with Paul Wellenberger and I for a dinner at Top of the Rock after their incredibly active day. They have developed many trail systems (both hike and bike) in Arkansas and shared their impressions of, and recommendations to improve our trail system in the Bay. We have invited this amazing couple back to the Bay and they offered to assist us in future planning to create an “Epic” trail in the Bay. We are grateful for their generosity and plan to follow through, putting FFB at the top of Arkansas outdoor enthusiasts must do list.
