The Alzheimer’s Support Group held their monthly meeting last Wednesday. We had a wonderful meeting with good attendance. One of the things we discussed was “Emotional Survival.” It is tremendously hard to be a caregiver of someone with dementia. It takes a toll mentally and physically, so we discussed various ways we can reshape our thinking about what is said or done by our loved one. In this way we hope to abort our natural emotional response and see things in a different, more thoughtful approach. We hope to see all of you at our next meeting which will be Wednesday July 15 at 2:00 pm. We meet in the library of Indian Rock Village. See you there!
