Fireworks at the Lake
Fairfield Bay – Why spend only a day when you can enjoy the week in Fairfield Bay celebrating a variety of activities including a FREE concert, parade, golf tournament AND FIREWORKS!! Fairfield Bay’s Fourth of July Festival is packed with NEW and exciting fun for the whole family. “We have an awesome week of activity beginning with a Cherokee Nation Youth Choir performing in their native language,” exclaimed Rocky Nickles, Fairfield Bay Community Club General Manager. “There will be fireworks over the Lake, many resort activities during the week and ending with a great band performance at the Marina. Everyone needs to experience the fun!”

Wednesday, July 3rd starts with a FREE concert by the Cherokee Nation Youth Choir, ONE Nation Under God, will be an unforgettable experience in the Indian Hills Cave. Concert starts at 6 pm. “The Youth Choir was founded in 2000,” said Catherine Swift, CEC Director, “as a way to keep Native American young adults interested in and involved with the Cherokee language and culture. These ambassadors are made up of selected high school students from the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The choir has performed for former President George W. Bush, they have sung at Ground Zero in New York City, and most recently at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. Bring your lawn chairs, friends and neighbors, and enjoy this one of a kind concert.”
4th of July – A Bang Up Day.
Thursday, July 4th begins how any holiday should, with pancakes! 8 to 10 am the Lion’s Club is having a pancake breakfast! After the family finishes their pile of hot cakes head down the Lakewood Village Mall to see the Independence Day Parade, starts at 9 am. Before the evening’s fireworks on the lake, there’s plenty of family fun to choose. Woodland Mead Park will is truly a kid’s playground of fun with bouncy houses and a fun park for kids of all ages. OR, spend the afternoon at Tom Sawyer Days learning about how the settlers lived. There will be story telling, live music, demonstrations of pioneer crafts, and ice cold lemonade. Come and visit a live reenactment of an 1850’s village. Held from 1-4pm at the Heritage Center at the Log Cabin and Museum in Indian Hills, this event and is free and open to the public. And end the day by heading to the only place suitable to watch fireworks, the Lake! Tune in to Timeless 106.1 FM for firework music. Fireworks are scheduled to start at dark (9 pm).
The Holiday Weekend Continues with Golf and Live Music.
Saturday, July 7th is the Red, White and Blue Golf Tournament. This four-person scramble tournament starts with registration at 7 am, $50 person/$200 team. Tee time is 8 am. Play until you’ve won and then head over to the potluck and enjoy the company! End the weekend listening to some of your favorite tune by Six Ways From Sunday! Concert from 5:30-7:30 at the Fairfield Bay Marina.
From a fun morning with friends playing golf to an ah-inspiring choir concert in a cave and who could forget the fireworks, this week in Fairfield Bay will bring something for the whole group!
