County Agent, Torrie Caston, took three 4-H members on a College Tour Road Trip on Thursday, July 19. The first stop was at Arkansas Tech University to tour the Agriculture Department. Dr. Willy Hoefler, ATU Professor, showed the 4-H’ers and Caston around the ATU Farm before providing them with lunch. The next stop on the road trip was at UACCM. The 4-H members were shown the new Workforce Center on the campus and were also shown the other technical programs UACCM has to offer. Shasta Nichols, Admissions Counselor, sat down with the members to discuss all the other programs UACCM has to offer besides the technical programs. The last stop on this road trip was University of Central Arkansas. Rebekah Luong, FCS Instructor, toured the students around the Family and Consumer Science Department. Luong gave a presentation to the students about the many different degrees and fields offered through the department. While the 4-H members attending were pretty young, each college pointed out that it is never too early to plan for the future.
