On January 14 Zeta Sigma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the home of Linda Reynolds. After the business meeting, Judy Wheeler introduced the guest speaker for the day; Dr. Catherine Swift, Director of the Fairfield Bay Community Education Center. Catherine studied at Texas A&M and received her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees from A&M. Her Doctorate dissertation was on the R.E.A.D. program. This program uses dogs in a classroom setting to help children that are having difficulty learning to read. She is an animal lover, owning 4 horses and 2 dogs at this point in her life. She and her husband reside at Holley Mountain. Catherine wants us all to know that the 50th Anniversary of Fairfield Bay will be featured in a lot of the upcoming programs for the year at the Education Center.
