What can stop a Lion? Well, in this case, the weather. After carefully consulting with our weather experts, a groundhog, two dogs, a stray cat and a partridge in a pine tree, the Fairfield Bay Lions have canceled our scheduled meeting for February 13, 2014. With ice on the streets, trees, power lines and pretty much every where else we can see at the moment and more in the forecast for later this week we applaud the decision to cancel this meeting and try again for our first meeting of 2014 on Thursday, February 27. Our scheduled speaker will be fellow Lion and Fairfield Bay Mayor, Paul Wellenberger. The dinner menu for the meeting on the Feb. 27 will be fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, rolls, and carrot cake with cream cheese icing, along with iced tea and coffee. As with all Lions Club meetings the public is always welcome. Dinner ($7.50 per person) reservations should be made no later than Sunday, February 23 by calling Lion Mary Meadows @ 884-6388.
