TOPS Giving Back To The Community

TOPS-good-worksA couple of weeks ago our TOPS Chapter AR0294FFB donated canned foods to our local food pantry. It’s a great feeling to give to the community and we are trying to find as many ways as we can to give. We are also gathering up old eye glasses and donating them to The Lions Club. We decided to begin cutting out Betty Crocker “Box Tops for Education” labels and donating them to the Shirley School to help them get needed equipment and supplies. In addition to the things we save and cut out we all have those clothes sitting in our closet that we hardly ever wear, and why are we saving them? JUST IN CASE we gain some weight? According to a recent article shared with us today during our meeting, the authors of the article say GET RID OF THEM ALL!!! Donate them to wear and share or some other kind of second hand store or put them in a consignment store. These places are also great places to shop especially when you are taking off weight because you’re dropping down a couple of sizes so you really don’t want to spend a lot of money on clothing since you won’t be in that size very long. So clean out those closets, and help other people use that clothing that you are no longer able to use. In other words get organized, it helps to make you feel so much better, getting organized and setting up a daily food chart and keeping track of all of those calories that you consume throughout the day and the workouts that you have done that day. Researchers also have found that while trying to get in shape more people succeed if they join a support group such as TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and TOPS always has their doors open to all; men, women, couples, children and people trying to quit smoking. TOPS has been around since 1948 and is and always has been a not for profit organization. We are here for you…Especially with the New Year right around the corner we can help you keep that New Years Resolution. We have a great chapter here so come and check us out and join in the support.
