Doctors Recommend Alternative Solutions For Daily Routines
The great and prolific inventor, Thomas Edison once stated, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease!”
Creating a new habit is not as difficult as we think. However, it takes practice, and many will not even make the attempt but rather invoke the old adage of “trying to teach an old dog a new trick.” However, to quote the ancient Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do.”
The following daily habits are recommended by countless doctors throughout the world. A little determination can result in productive days, restful nights and healthy habits.
For the early morning “Sleepy,” “Dopey” and “Grumpys,” try a few drops of frankincense and peppermint essential oils to the bottoms of your feet as you get up. You’ll find you’re suddenly energized, completely awake and ready to take on the day. No need to put on that second pot of coffee!
Midday is the perfect time to recharge with a couple drops of peppermint, lemon or grapefruit oils to the temples and the back of the neck. It’s a great pick-me-up and certainly healthier and less expensive than energy drinks. And as you’re reminding yourself to drink all those extra glasses of water, just a drop of lemon will enhance the flavor and help detox your system.
Finally, calm down to a restful night’s sleep by adding lavender essential oil to the bathwater, on a pillow case or the bottoms of your feet. Pills to jump start your day often lead to more pills for insomnia at bedtime.
A person always has a choice, and what you “repeatedly do” will determine the outcome. Listen to your doctor’s suggestions on alternative solutions. Choose good habits, safe and healthy habits. Your body will thank you!
