Listed as part of Lions Club International ethics and purposes are two statements which are “To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship” and “To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.” To this end, the Fairfield Bay Lions will have as our guest speaker for our Thursday February 27 meeting Fairfield Bay Mayor and Fairfield Bay Community Club General Manager Paul Wellenberger. He will give us an overall view of our city and Community Club as well as status on some ongoing local projects. We are proud that Paul is also a fellow Fairfield Bay Lion and his talk will be followed by a brief question and answer session. As with all Fairfield Bay Lions Club meetings guests are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Our meeting on Thursday, February 27 will begin with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. Our dinner ($7.50 per person) will be fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, slaw, and rolls with a carrot cake and cream cheese icing all served with ice tea or coffee. Reservations are requested by contacting Lion Mary Meadows @ 884-6388 no later than Sunday February 23. Our regular meeting and guest speaker will follow dinner at 6 p.m. For more information regarding joining the Fairfield Lions, please contact our Membership Chair Lion Mary Meadows at the listed number. The Fairfield Bay Lions would welcome your attendance at this meeting or any regular meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
