Peace Lutheran Welcomes New Pastor Jo Dietz

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new Pastor and her spouse at Peace Lutheran Church in Edgemont. Pastor Jo Dietz has been called to serve us since July 1 of this year. She and her husband, Carl, have purchased a home in Fairfield Bay. They are enjoying our community very much. Pastor Jo was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended first and second grades in Mountain Home, Arkansas, before her family moved to Missouri. Pastor still has family in the Gassville, Fort Smith and Marianna, Arkansas areas. Pastor Jo is a graduate of Puxico High School, Puxico, Missouri (1970), the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado (1982), and Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa (1987). Upon graduation, she was assigned to the Western North Dakota District of the American Lutheran Church. In 1988 the American Lutheran Church was a part of a merger into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Pastor Dietz has served the Church in several calls prior to this one. In North Dakota, she was called to serve congregations in Keene, Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln and Driscoll. She did interim work in Steele, Ashley, Wishek and Wing, also in North Dakota. In 2008, Pastor Dietz served as interim pastor in Hot Springs, Arkansas, before returning to North Dakota once more. In 2011, Pastor accepted a full-time call to serve our congregation in Edgemont. We look forward to many fruitful years together.
