On Patrol February 2014

March 31 was the last day for long time Fairfield Bay officer Lenny Ashlock, who retired. He told me his retirement plans include fishing and doing a lot of nothing. We wish him the best in his retirement. New officer, Donald Crispell, will be taking his place in early April. Officer Crispell comes to us from Mountain View Police Department and has over 14 years of police experience. The state is having two major campaigns that run from May 19 through June 1. “click it or ticket” and “drive sober or get pulled over.” While we always try to insure seat belt and driving while intoxicated statutes are enforced, there will be a special emphasis devoted by all officers in the state for those two weeks.
Calls for February included; 7 accidents, 6 disturbance calls, 2 reports of harassing communications, 24 rescue calls, 3 fingerprinted for employment, 4 welfare checks, 3 motorist assists, 2 reported thefts and 9 residential assists. We also had 7 alarm calls, 2 fires, 1 missing child and 2 missing adults, 1 domestic disturbance, 2 animal calls, 1 suspicious vehicle checked, 1 assault, 1 terroristic threat, 1 commercial burglary, 1 theft of services and 4 suspicious persons checked.
Traffic stops included 9 speeding, 3 no license plate, 2 expired tags and 4 defective equipment. 4 traffic citations were issued, 5 people were arrested on outstanding warrants and 1 arrest for driving on a suspended license. 3 new warrants were forwarded to the prosecutor and 14 investigations were opened. Please be safe, enjoy the spring weather and slow down. As always, for questions or comments please E-mail me at [email protected]
