Beginning this Friday, October 11, the FFB Lions Club will host BINGO at the Lions Den on Dave Creek Parkway, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the first game at 6 p.m. In the past year, the FFB Lions donated almost $8,000 to local youth programs, eye exams and glasses for those in need and other charitable needs, such as Arkansas Alzheimer’s association. All of these donations are funded by the work of our 53 members at pancake breakfasts, BINGO, aluminum can recycling and other fund raising efforts. We would like to thank those who have supported our Monday night BINGO over the past twenty years or so and hope you will join us for our new FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO as we will no longer conduct bingo on Monday evenings.
The Fairfield Bay Lions Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the Lions Den on Dave Creek Parkway. Meetings begin with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. (reservations requested contact Lion Mary Meadows @ 884-6388) and the meeting with guest speaker at 6 p.m. All meetings are open to the public and visiting Lions are most welcome.
Our next meeting is Thursday, October 10. Our guest speaker will be Dale James, of Clinton Funeral Home, with information on alternatives to the high cost of funerals. On Thursday, October 24 our speaker will be Sherry Guess, Director of the Fairfield Bay Community Education Center, with general information regarding the center and upcoming classes. We hope to see you at our first FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO on October 11.
