Under the purpose and ethics of Lions Clubs International one of the points states that we are to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of our community. To support this, Lions Clubs often bring in speakers who represent local organizations who are dedicated to improving the area in support of these principles. The Fairfield Bay Lions club will host David Cook, Director of Project Surge at our first meeting on Thursday, June 12, with dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by a short meeting and remarks from Mr. Cook. Our speaker will share how this organization serves the needs of Van Buren County, especially those families affected by disasters, economic hardships and those struggling with homelessness. Visitors and local residents are always welcome at our meetings and to hear our speakers. If you wish to make reservations for dinner ($7.50 per person) or would like more information on becoming a Fairfield Bay Lion, please contact Lion Jeanie Hooper @ 884-3202.
All-U-Can Eat gravy and biscuit or pancake breakfasts are held at the Lions Den on Dave Creek Parkway each Tuesday and Saturday morning from 8 – 10 a.m. Breakfasts are served with sausage patties and your choice of coffee or milk. Extra sausage, milk refills or orange juice are available for a slight charge. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult. BINGO is held each Saturday evening with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the first game at 6 p.m. with a chance to win $1,000 on the blackout jackpot. Please come and join us for one of these fund raisers to help support our local vision and youth projects.
