North Central Arkansas Artist League (NCAAL) members Mary Shelton and Ann Snyder will be honored with a reception hosted by Indian Rock Village, 265 Dave Creek Pkwy, Fairfield Bay, Friday, October 26th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. These two talented artists’ work is the featured exhibit in the upstairs dining room and downstairs gallery at Indian Rock Village. Mary Shelton of Cabot is a painter, printmaker, and a pen and ink artist. She is an Arkansas native and grew up in Stuttgart. She worked as a hairstylist for 35 years and took art lessons at the local community center whenever possible. Since her retirement she has received her Bachelors and Masters of Art degrees from the University of Arkansas and completed a residency in printmaking at the Vermont Studios in Johnson, Vermont. She has received enthusiastic praise and recognition for her detailed and unusual technique. Ann Snyder of Mountain View is a long time member of NCAAL and Mountain View Art Guild. Ann was born in Missouri and grew up in Kansas and lived in San Diego before retiring to Mountain View to enjoy the peaceful lifestyle. She took up painting as a pastime but soon fell in love with art and the Ozark Mountains. Her vivid use of color and impressionist style are reflected in her paintings of trees, landscapes and everyday life. Her colorful collage work is one of her passions. She teaches workshops and gives lessons in her studio/gallery. The public is cordially invited to attend the reception and visit with the artists. The exhibit is on display through the end of November. For further information contact Connie Hood, IRV gallery coordinator at 501-884-3283.
