Free Puppet Shows Each Wednesday

Last time my grandkids were in town, we visited the Artisan’s Gallery and Puppet Theatre. The ever so sophistocated “city slickers” eyed me suspiciously when I suggested we were going to a puppet show. They imagined themselves as too “mature” for such ‘childishness’ at their ripe old ages of 8, 9 and 10. Still, they acquiesced to please grandma and off we went, in time to get a good seat.Once the puppets went into action, I saw any resistance to the charm and adventure disappear and that look of childish wonder come over their sweet faces. Once the performance ended, a short demonstration of marionette skills convinced each girl that she could become a puppeteer. The rest of their vacation was spent honing their skills with newfound puppet-friends.
