The Fairfield Bay Rotary Club received a Grant from the Rotary District 6150 to have a High School Rotary Essay Contest, based on the Rotary 4 Way Test. The Rotary 4 Way Test consists of 4 questions, First, Is it the Truth? Second, Is it fair to all concerned? Third, Will it build good will and better friendships? Fourth, Will it be beneficial to all concerned? The Shirley High School English class participated in the contest with over 30 Essay entries, of which the top 6 were presented to the Rotary Club at the meeting on September 30. Rotarians then voted on the best Essays, based on presentation and content, and awarded a monetary prize to each student. Lunch was provided to the students and English teacher by the Rotary Club. Those pictured above are Mariana Larson, 1st place, Katie Hutto, 2nd place, Peyton Loeschner 3rd place, Joscelyn Boggs, 4th place, Mary Considine 5th place and Skylar Want 6th place. English Teacher: Katy Knapp. The Rotarians appreciate each student that participated and look forward to next year’s Essay Contest.
