These fun filled evenings will include Zombie Paintball Survival, Haunted House, Hayride, Outdoor Movie, Zombie Graveyard, Clown Carnie-Val, Costume Contest, Games, Candy Apples, and Prizes. October 27th 8:30 A.M. Shop with A Cop Golf Tournament: Join us as we raise money for the Shop with a Cop program with this shotgun start benefit tournament. October 30th Scare on the Square: They are moving this event up a day to Tuesday the 30th in recognition of the City ordinance to observe Halloween on the 30th of October. Join us downtown for a fun filled night with candy, costume contest, haunted house, and so much more. This true community event makes for a great experience. The haunted house will be open October 29th and 30th.
November 5th 6:30 P.M. The Van Buren County Community Band will perform its annual Veterans Day Concert in the Clinton High School Auditorium. Performing with the VBC Band will the Choirs of CHS, The Senior Choir, Junior Choir and the 6th Grade Choir led by Mrs. Suzanne McMurry! Also there will be Quilts of Honor given out to some special veterans during the concert! Please come out and support the VBC Band, CHS Choirs and our Veterans! Donations will be accepted. November 5th 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Mammogram Party: Grab your girlfriends because mammograms just got more fun. First 30 to register get free robe and slippers. This event will be held at Ozark Health in the Radiology Department. This event is for ladies over 40 eligeible for an annual screening. Call 501-745-9306 to reserve your spot or for more details.
November 7th Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast: Breakfast for the Brave will be held every Wednesday in November Roller McNutt invites you to join them as they welcome all Veteran’s and their families to enjoy a free continental breakfast at their location in Clinton. Future dates are November 14th, 21st, and 28th.
November 8th 6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. Clinton City Council Meeting: Meetings of the Clinton City Council are usually held the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Clinton Municipal Airport off Hwy 16 East. The public and all press & media are invited to attend.
November 10th 10:00 A.M. – Noon Picking on the Square: Join other local residents for an acoustic music jam in Clinton on the historical downtown square under the big tree on the west side of the court house (during inclement weather session will be held in the Van Buren County Democrat Office). This is an acoustic gathering so no mics or amps. Bringing a chair is recommended, come join our musical circle or just stop by and listen.
November 10th 1:00 P.M. Maximum Living Support Group: Roller-McNutt Funeral Home is sponsoring the Maximum Living Support Group for those of us that have lost loved ones. This event will be held at the Western Sizzlin. This week’s meal is sponsored by Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Contact Lisa at 501-745-2151 for more details. November 9th 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Veterans Day Potluck: We Love VBC is holding their annual Veterans Day potluck on Friday, November 9 from 5:30-7:00pm. Bring a dish to share, drinks and entertainment provided. Call Jackie, 501-253-4716 for more information.
November 15th 6:00 P.M. Van Buren County Quorum Court: Meetings of the Van Buren County Quorum Court are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Van Buren County Annex building off Highway 65 in Clinton.
November 20th 5:30 P.M. Clinton Advertising and Promotion Meeting: The Clinton A&P Commission meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. at the Clinton Municipal Airport on Hwy 16 East. The meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
November 24th 12:00 Christmas Parade and Toy & Food Drive: This event will be held at the City Park on Main Street just east of KHPQ. There will be food, beverages, and Santa will give a toy to any child in need under 12. Donations of food and toys can be made at the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Ralph Tester’s Office. This event is hosted by the Flame Riders, CMA, and Chapter 911.
December 8th Festival of Hope & Lights: It’s almost time for community’s only Black Tie Gala! The Ozark Health Foundation will host the Festival of Hope & Lights Gala on December 8 at the Fairfield Bay Conference Center. Tickets are $100 and on sale at Faye’s Diamond Mine, The Sweet Shoppe in Fairfield Bay, and by calling the Foundation Office at (501) 745-9303. All money raised through the Foundation is used to purchase Medical Equipment and fund scholarships.
