Charlotte Rierson’s Artwork At Riverwalk

Charlotte Rierson with her award winning painting “Spring of Light”.

Fairfield Bay Artist, Charlotte Rierson’s painting has been juried into the prestigious Arkansas League of Artist Annual Juried Show. The exhibit opened Oct.12 at the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies. It is a department of the Central Arkansas Library System located in Little Rock, 401 President Clinton Ave in the River Market. The juror was David Bailin a long-time educator and artist who currently teaches drawing at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He said his selection of works of art was difficult and many fine paintings had to be cut. He looked for something in each piece-interesting composition, handling of the subject matter, use of color and value. He continued to say that the sincerity of the work here takes your breath away—art not belabored or over-thought or over-explained. Viewers can relax their guard and know that the artists are wearing their hearts on their sleeves. The exhibit will be up until January 26. The public is invited.
