The Greers Ferry Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting Thursday night at Bentley’s Restaurant in Greers Ferry. President Jo Ann Wanat, spoke about the events held last year and what is planned for the coming year. Ms. Wanat also talked about the revenue brought in by the Greers Ferry fishing tournaments. The guest speaker was Dara Samuel, Director for Cleburne County Office of Economic Development. She spoke about tourism and supporting your local business. Samuel said, “with a lot of hard work and working together with a county wide effort, we could see big things start to happen and bring tourism back into the Greers Ferry Area.” Other community leaders that attended the meeting were; County Judge Jerry Holmes and his wife Jo, Greers Ferry Mayor Mickey Stewart and his wife Kathy and Fairfield Bay Mayor Paul Wellenberger.
