The Fairfield Bay Community Education Center reopened early February for the 2016 season. In addition to all our currently schedule events, in celebration of Fairfield Bay’s 50th Anniversary, we will focus on our areas earliest peoples and their 4,000 year old legacy from the Indian Rock Cave (Edgemont Shelter on the National Register of Historic places).

One Day Basic Photography

Instructor Lee Phillips offers this introductory class on basic photography. No prior experience is necessary. $20
ONE DAY Fused Glass – Wednesday, March 16 2:00pm-4:00pm
Learn the art of fused glass. Local artisan, Barbara Cornett, will help you with your custom creations. All supplies and materials are furnished. This class is suitable for ages 12 and up. Any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing your fused glass piece is $35.
ONE DAY Jewelry Making – Wednesday, March 16 10:00am-12:00noon
Learn the basics of jewelry making with Arkansas quartz crystal. Select your amulet from our stock, design your necklace and then leave with your masterpiece. Our local artisan will have all the tools and supplies you will need to use. This class is suitable for ages 12 and up, any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing your own unique jewelry is $20.
ONE DAY Jeweled Spider Art – Thursday, March 17 9:45am-11:45am
Did you know that legend has it that spiders are considered lucky? Instructor Fran Schroeder can teach you to create your one of a kind jeweled spider. All supplies and beads are provided. Any experience level is welcome. Cost of designing your very own spider creation is $10.
ONE DAY Do It yourself – Dollhouse Workshop – Every Thursday afternoon 1:00am-3:00pm
Building a dollhouse, display box or vignette? Bring your own supplies and spend a few fun hours each Thursday afternoon assembling your dream house. Don’t have a project? Come and learn from the other crafters. Free with annual registration.
Ukrainian Egg Decorating – Saturday, March 19 9:00am – 12:00noon
Celebrate Easter by making a traditional egg created with the wax and dye method. Sue Allen Pico returns to teach this course with traditional and contemporary designs. These works of art are made with real eggs, but can last a lifetime. Beginners are welcome, all materials are provided, $25
One Day Painting with Panache – Tuesday, March 29 10:00am – 12:00 noon
At the Education Center studio! Acrylic artist Jim Tindall will lead the 2 hour class for beginning students who will complete a finished landscape, still life or portrait in one session. All materials are provided $45
ONE DAY AARP Safe Driving Course – Wednesday, March 30 1:00pm-5:00pm
A certified course for the state approved discount on auto insurance taught by ASU instructor Clay Fires. Limited spaces so call to sign up now. $20 AARP members, $25 non-AARP members.
